Scrapbook with holograph correspondence, verses and writings tipped in. Includes three letters to Mr. Pope relating to theatrical matters and dating from 1878 Feb. 28 to 1879 Mar. 1. Includes Prelegue written for the Chatterton benefit at the T.R. Covent Garden by Richard Hengist Horne; also various writings in verse, some revised.

Richard Hengist Horne (1803-1884) was an English author. From the description of Correspondence of R. H. Horne, 1847-1877. (Huntington Library, Art Collections & Botanical Gardens). WorldCat record id: 122369262 Poet, born near London, migrating to Australia to try his fortune on the gold fields in 1852.
